TERME ROMANE

Figura mitologica e fantastica appartenente al pavimento di un edificio termale, risalente alla prima metà del II secolo d.C.. E’ inserita in un eccezionale mosaico che rappresenta un unicum nel suo genere. Le terme romane sono sempre state un luogo di relax assai popolare, quelle di Histonium, l’antica Vasto romana, erano terme davvero belle e ricche, segno evidente che la città stessa era prospera ed importante, soprattutto in età imperiale quando fu patria di potenti famiglie dell’aristocrazia romana. le terme sono inserite nel parco archeologico collegato ai Musei Civici di Palazzo d’Avalos a Vasto (CH) – Italia

ROMAN BATHS

This mythological animal is to be found in a mosaic pavement of Roman baths of the first half of the 2nd century b. C. It reminds us of the importance reached by the town Vasto during the Roman age and of its prosperity. The baths can be visited in the archeological site next to Palazzo D’Avalos ‘ Musei Civici in Vasto (CH) – Italy.
